The symposium was graced by Mr. Mohammad Wahid Hossain, ndc, Chairman (Senior Secretary) of BEPRC, as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of IUT, attended as the Chief Patron. The event brought together faculty members, researchers, students, and professionals to exchange knowledge on emerging technologies and research opportunities in the energy and power sector. Moderated by Prof. Dr. Md. Rezwanul Karim, Head of IEE, the symposium featured technical presentations by distinguished experts. Dr. Hasan Mahmud, Director of Innovation at BEPRC, introduced the Council's Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (I2E) framework, highlighting funding opportunities for collaborative research and technology commercialization. Prof. Dr. Khondokar Habibul Kabir of IUT presented an IoT-based battery management system for electric three-wheelers, while Prof. Dr. Khosru Mohammad Salim of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) discussed grid-integrated solar-powered EV charging solutions for rural communities.
The final keynote by Prof. Dr. Farseem Mannan Mohammedy of BUET explored the interconnections between energy transition, climate resilience, and sustainable development. The symposium concluded with interactive discussions on future collaboration between IUT and BEPRC, including joint research initiatives, advanced laboratory development,
smart grid modernization, and capacity building in renewable energy and next-generation power system technologies.
